Best Beaches of Anafi

Kleisidi Beach

Sandy, Secluded, Non-Organised, Naturist friendly

Location: 2km south of Chora

Kleisidi is a beautiful sandy beach located at the southern part of the island very close to the main port, Agios Nikolaos. It can be reached within 20 minutes’ walk from the port. The water is crystal clear and there are beautiful views over the sea.

Kleisidi is preferred by a large number of tourists, due to its close proximity to Chora village. However even during high season it is not that busy. Kleisidi is a long sandy beach with pure sand and blue waters. A few tamarisk trees can be found close to the coast, but the landscape mostly consists of bare rocks. Sometimes naturist will also be found at the beach.

Kleisidi is a lovely beach as there are places to stay and eat nearby. Nude bathing at Kleisidi is prohibited although it is close to other nudist beaches.

Roukouna Beach

Sandy, Secluded, Non-Organised, Nudism Friendly, Naturist friendly

Location: 3km southeast of Chora

Roukouna beach is one of the longest beaches on Anafi, about 300m. There are tamarisk trees surrounding the coast and offers shade to beach goers and campers. The beach is accessible to campers which usually set up under the trees. Roukouna beach is normally not crowded as it is a popular nudist beach. Naturists will also be found here from time to time.

From Chora you need to drive towards the eastward coast to get to the beach. You can also walk from Chora to the beach which will take around one hour or more.

Agios Nikolaos Beach

Sandy, Harbor, Non-Organised

Location: 2km south of Chora

Agios Nikolaos is the only port of Anafi and is situated on the southern part of the island. The port is located between two cliffs and there are a few houses and a quiet bay. Chora is about 2km away from Agios Nikolaos or you can reach the village by a mule track.

The beach is a few meters away from the port with a few tourist amenities like cafeterias, traditional taverns and rooms to rent.

Katsouni Beach

Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised, Nudism Friendly

Location: 2km south of Chora

This quiet and pebbled beach has a narrow and rocky shore. The beach can be reached on foot from Chora in 30 minutes’ walk. The beach is unorganized, and the water is crystal clear.

Agioi Anargyroi Beach

Sandy, Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 4km east of Chora

Agioi Anargyroi is a nice, sandy beach with beautiful clear waters. The name of the beach originates from the church of Agioi Anargyroi that has been built on a rock close to the sea.

The beach can be reached by boat or on foot from the ancient temple of Apollo which is on the eastern side of the island.

Agios Ioannis Beach

Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 4km southeast of Chora

Ioannis beach is a pebbled beach with clean and clear waters. It can be reached by boat as it is a long walk from Chora. The beach gets is name from the small chapel of Agios Ioannis (Saint John) that is found closeby.

Flamourou Beach

Sandy, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 3km southeast of Chora

Flamourou beach is located on the southern side of Anafi and doesn’t receive many tourists. This beach is very quiet and can be reached by boat or on foot by a track road.

Kameni Lagkada Beach

Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 4km southwest of Chora

Kameni is a secluded pebbled beach located on the southwest side of the island and is surrounded by big rocks. The beach can be reached by boat.

Megas Potamos Beach

Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 4km southeast of Chora

Megas Potamos beach is located between the hills of Kasteli and Chalepa. There is no roads to the beach and has to be reached by tour boat from the port of Anafi.

Prasa Beach

Pebbled, Secluded, Non-Organised

Location: 6km north west of Chora

The pebbled beach of Prasa is located on the north western side of the island. It is generally quieter than the beaches on the southern side of the island. You can reach Prasa by track road or by boat permitting the weather is good.

Agios Spiridon Beach

Sandy, Non-Organised

Location: 2km from Chora

Agios Spiridon beach is a small, sandy cove close to the port of Anafi. This lovely little beach is very popular and can get very busy during summertime as it is so close to the port. The waters are clear and the beach unorganized.
